On behalf of our client, a global biopharmaceutical company (focus on oncology) headquartered in the Basel area and currently having around 12,000 employees worldwide, we are seeking, starting on 04 January 2027 and for an expected term until 30 June 2027 (as may be extended) an „Associate Director, HEOR, Hematology, Europe & New Markets (70-100%; Contractor)“ as follows:

Responsibilities:

• Support and manage HEOR activities across hematology assets in Europe and New Markets, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of evidence to support HTA, reimbursement and broader evidence needs
• Work cross-functionally with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics and Global teams to identify evidence gaps and prioritize HEOR activities according to regional and country needs
• Support the development and execution of HEOR evidence-generation activities, incl. comparative effectiveness research, real-world evidence, economic analyses and other projects according to business needs
• Support development and review of study protocols, analysis plans, reports, publications and other HEOR deliverables, ensuring methodological quality and appropriate interpretation of results
• Contribute to the European HTA and EU Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) evidence strategy, incl. preparation and execution of evidence-generation activities required to support upcoming assessments
• Support JCA PICO strategy and planning, incl. assessment of anticipated populations, subgroups, comparators and outcomes, identification of evidence gaps, and evaluation of the feasibility of addressing different PICOs
• Lead or support comparative evidence generation for JCA and other HTA needs
• Work with internal teams and external vendors to evaluate available clinical trial, external and real-world data and determine appropriate approaches to address identified evidence gaps
• Manage external HEOR vendors and projects, incl. scope development, methodological review, timelines, deliverables and quality control
• Support interpretation and communication of HEOR evidence, incl. methodological assumptions, uncertainty, limitations and implications for HTA and evidence strategy
• Provide additional HEOR support across the hematology portfolio as priorities evolve during the contract period

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Public Health, Statistics or a related discipline
• At least 5 years‘ relevant experience in HEOR, HTA, RWE or comparative effectiveness research, preferably gained within the pharmaceutical industry (in-house or consulting). Experience designing, managing and critically reviewing HEOR studies and working with external research vendors. Furthermore, knowledge and experience with comparative effectiveness methods (e.g., ITC/NMA) and population-adjusted approaches (e.g., MAIC/STC), European HTA and evidence requirements, the EU HTA Regulation and JCA, and in hematology/oncology would be a strong asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (at least level C1)
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate evidence gaps into practical research activities
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional matrix environment and manage multiple projects and changing priorities
• Highly organized, proactive and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Residence in Switzerland (with Swiss work permit) or a cross-border permit (if residence in Germany or France) are required
