For our customer, a leading multinational Life Sciences group headquartered in the Basel area, we are seeking a Director, Global HR Business Partner:
Responsibilities:
• Within a globally active division of the group, be part of a team of 5-7 global HR Business Partners and report to the VP Human Resources
• Develop and deliver effective people-related strategies for the assigned global business unit(s) and/or corporate function(s) („Business Area“). Integrate HR best-practices as appropriate and leverage HR metrics that drive action
• Provide strategic HR advice to senior management as well as business relevant HR analysis to support decision making that enables accelerated business growth. Ensure that highest ethical standards are maintained
• Act as key partner to the Business Area, contribute to the business strategy and ensure business support. Jointly with the senior leadership team, prepare the strategic plan to enable growth
• Act as trusted business partner and be comfortable influencing, challenging, and gaining buy-in of executives on core HR people strategies that support the business in achieving its objectives
• Define an HR plan with clear objectives and ensure alignment across the Business Area with group functions
• Measure the effectiveness of HR actions and how these drive employee engagements within the Business Area. Inform senior management thereof and cascade down. Facilitate coaching of individual senior managers when needed
• Lead projects within the business and HR that drive innovation, process improvements, and efficiencies within the group. Go beyond to ensure that the group is the place to go, stay, and grow
• Partner with the business to develop an effective organizational structure that continues to drive cultural change. Develop and implement organizational, leadership, and capability development for the Business Area
• Operate effectively within the matrix organization. Leverage lean/six sigma related tools to help teams improve productivity. Understand individual and team dynamics to help improve engagement where needed
Requirements:
• MSc/BSc in Psychology or other HR related field; complemented with a post graduate degree in HR or Business Administration (e.g., MBA)
• Extensive HR experience across multiple areas of specialization and increasing levels of responsibility, gained at a pharmaceutical, biotech, and/or CDMO group with in-house manufacturing activities
• Fluency in English. Proficiency in other global languages like Spanish, French and/or German would be a plus
• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotech industry from drug discovery and development to manufacturing and commercialization, including regulatory and quality requirements
• Proven track record in leading global teams and advising customers across multiple territories, jurisdictions and cultures, and highly matrixed organizations
• Strong experience in delivering impactful solutions to complex business problems in a dynamic, fast-paced, and changing environment. Proven ability to drive actions to resolution
• Extensive experience in coaching, leadership development, and succession planning with demonstrated success in building talent pools and leadership pipelines
• Proven ability to foster relationships at all levels across an organization
• Ability to leverage lean/six sigma related tools to help teams improve productivity
• Ability to influence and build followership without direct control
• Highly organized, structured and efficient working style; ability to manage a high workload with conflicting priorities in a challenging environment
• Strong results and action orientation
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• High integrity and loyalty; ability to effectively manage confidential information
• Willingness to travel (up to 20%)
