For our customer, an multinational industry group with a location in Zug, Switzerland, we are seeking a Head Legal & Compliance BU (CIS countries):

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all legal and compliance issues at the head office in Zug as well as its affiliated sales companies in various Eastern (CIS) countries
• Report to the CFO
• Advise, instruct, negotiate and decide on a variety of legal, contractual, compliance, risk and, if experienced, also tax matters. Work with multiple departments such as sales, procurement, order processing, supply chain and finance and will counsel the group’s regional sales companies especially when dealing with customers, suppliers, financial institutions, and consultants
• Manage a team of one Compliance Officer (direct report) and approx. 10 Legal Counsels and Paralegals at the affiliated sales companies (dotted line)
• Advise, review and draft various contracts such as sales, leasing, subcontractor, purchase and security contracts
• Ensure compliance of sales companies with relevant laws, the group’s code of conduct as well as policies and ethical business practices; provide support with respect to compliance audits
• In-house trainings regarding contract law, compliance, export regulations, data protection etc.
• Support the CFO regarding risk topics; risk assessment of contracts and projects
• Responsible for ad hoc legal advice at the head office; handle and coordinate claims and litigations companywide
• Responsible for corporate secretary tasks at the head office
• Responsible for the coordination and management of the insurance program within the region
• Willing to travel and to assist locally also at the request of a sales company.

Requirements

• Swiss “Master of law” degree or long-standing consulting experience regarding Swiss law topics; bar exam would be an advantage
• At least 6 years PQE in Legal & Compliance, gained in-house (ideally at an international trading or industrial company) or at an international law firm; market experience regarding Eastern European or other emerging economies is a must
• Business fluent in English and German, Russian is an advantage
• Experience in providing compliance trainings for management and staff as well as “train-the-trainer”
• Knowledge about risk management and tax law (e.g. transfer pricing) would be an advantage
• Experience in managing multiple projects and contracts at the same time (project management)
• Ability to work in an international setting; strong awareness of cultural differences (CIS)
• Communicate in a clear, concise and persuasive manner both orally and in writing
