International Tax Manager [CLOSED]

For our client, a leading, multinational, listed Life Sciences group headquartered in the German part of Switzerland, we are seeking the International Tax Manager (f/m).

Responsibilities:

  • Advise the group globally on all taxation issues in connection with direct and indirect taxes, e.g. in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, permanent establishments, (financial) restructurings, winding-up and other transactions
  • Ensure timely and appropriate tax planning on a global level
  • Monitor and pro-actively identify potential tax issues and opportunities for the group’s businesses, including tax optimization. Advise on the preparation and implementation of initiatives to minimize direct and indirect taxes
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation, review and filing of tax returns, as well as the respective payments
  • Ensure the appropriate accounting of expenditures
  • Avoid income tax adjustments and penalties
  • Establish tax rulings and hold negotiations with the competent tax authorities
  • Assist the Finance and Controlling Department in supervising appropriate effective tax rate
  • Help minimize the group’s transfer pricing exposure. Assist in the preparation of local transfer pricing documentations
  • Advise on tax reporting in compliance with IFRS
  • Assist in the timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Advise the Executive Committee and all line and staff functions on tax implications of projects
  • Establish and maintain a close collaboration with the Finance and Controlling Department
  • Supervise local tax audits
  • Monitor changes in tax law and timely suggest the implementation of appropriate measures

Requirements:

  • University degree in Law or Economics (or comparable degree), ideally supplemented with a Tax degree (e.g., CPA, LL.M. Tax, Swiss Tax Expert)
  • At least 6 years international tax experience in a multinational company (or a comparable function in a consulting firm)
  • Proven knowledge in corporate taxation (direct and indirect taxes), including transfer pricing
  • Fluent in English and German; additional languages a plus
  • Exact, efficient and pragmatic working style. High flexibility and ability to work under pressure and set appropriate priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Professional, confident, convincing, friendly and balanced manner. Strong communication and negotiation skills
