On behalf of WeFi Technology Group, a multinational, growing fintech group focused on providing innovative Supply Chain Finance solutions to the Information Technology industry that is headquartered in Greenwood Village (CO, USA) and operating a regional headquarter in Zug, Switzerland, we are seeking, immediately or by arrangement, the (Senior) Legal Counsel (100%). The draft job description reads as follows (with minor adjustments from us):

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Chief Legal & Chief Risk Officer located in Greenwood Village, support the business in the USA and globally, providing general corporate assistance and supporting WeFi’s core financial transactions with global technology companies and their commercial customers
  • Assist with documentation and negotiation of financing transactions involving regulated bank and non-regulated alternative capital providers on both secured and unsecured financings
  • Responsible for diligence and customary ancillary and closing aspects of typical lending and accounts receivable purchase transactions
  • Prepare corporate documentations, including corporate resolutions, assisting with the creation of new entities and banking relationships
  • Research and create privacy, data security, anti-money laundering policies applicable in expanding markets
  • Assist in the development of transaction documentations for financing transactions and ancillary supporting agreements such as guarantees and credit insurance
  • Work with external counsel to due diligence new markets in EMEA and APAC and their regulatory, tax, legal frameworks in order to ascertain transaction risk
  • Assist with legal support during negotiations with global technology companies, their commercial customers and financing providers
  • Support building strong relationships with WeFi’s customers
  • Manage interactions with regulators, authorities, industry associations and other parties
  • Advise on regulatory strategy, securing and maintaining regulatory permissions, and preparing related applications, documentations and correspondences
  • Navigate complex regulatory frameworks to advise on the design of innovative financial products and services
  • Ensure that WeFi as such and its activities and products comply at all times with applicable legal, compliance and regulatory requirements

 

Requirements:

  • Law degree (MLaw) gained from a continental European university and bar exam; additional degrees like LL.M. would be a plus
  • 7+ years of substantive Swiss work experience gained at a bank, fintech, asset manager, SRO, family office or other company active in the Financial Services sector, or at a renowned law firm or consultancy advising respective clients
  • Strong experience in corporate transactions, secured and unsecured financing, accounts purchase and cross-border transactions
  • Fluent verbal and written English skills (at least level C1); knowledge of other major European languages a plus
  • Structured, efficient work style; attention to details
  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to effectively work directly with sophisticated company clients, internal and external counsel of global technology companies and selected financial providers
  • Ability to provide legal and practical advice while achieving business results
  • Skills in resolving issues that arise in existing relationships and supporting new relationships
  • Proactive, able to provide innovative solutions that balance legal and business concerns, enjoying working hard and being challenged, working to demanding transactions schedules
  • Sound and pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations, and a healthy sense of humor
  • Enjoying the exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, professional law department of a fast-paced global fintech with stakeholders in the USA, Europe and Asia, supporting the group’s overall expanding business, with an initial emphasis on channel finance transactions
  • Ability to periodic travel (approx. 10%)
